The Bolder Boulder is right around the corner. As I look around Boulder with the beautiful early Spring weather we are having, I see the roads & jogging trails beginning to fill up & training beginning to ramp up.
Stress is everywhere
Life weighing you down,
Neck & shoulder tension
Driving you into the ground.
What stokes that fire in your eye? What fans the flames of your dreams & aspirations? When was the last time you took a good look at those elements? Do you even remember what initially burned brightly at your core?
In Boulder there are unique exercise dynamics that coexist. There is, of course, the “uber-athlete” that simply piles on miles no matter how cold it is outside & never seems deterred by a howling snow storm or even by current injuries that are plaguing them.
This season I had the pleasure of providing Sports Recovery Acupuncture treatments after the rehearsal triathlon races for CWW (Colorado Wild Women) & Yoli’s Training Team. It was a wonderful time spent with incredible women from Denver & Boulder who’s goals spanned from learning to swim in open water, to competing in a Sprint Triathlon & even up to a Half Ironman.

However, there are some important considerations to know prior to receiving an Acupuncture treatment at any time, but especially prior to a workout our race.
Before treatment, it is critically important to be:
In Colorado, we have the opportunity to train & enjoy outdoor sports all year long. Some say Boulder is one of the nations athletic meccas, & I have to agree. In my practice I see individuals of all ages: some in college sports, others who have been athletic for 30 years, & inspirational ones who are 58 and training for their 1st Triathlon ever. Each of these athletes usually has their own training plan, nutritional needs, & often professional guidance to get them to their goals safely.
